Through 3 pm, scattered showers with isolated embedded thunderstorms across the Straits of Florida between Wood`s Wall East Crack and Floyd`s Wall Northeast, as well as in the Gulf waters between the Dry Tortugas and W Tower, will move north to northeast at 10 to 15 knots. Elsewhere, thunderstorms will move into the distant western Straits of Florida over the next hour. Mariners encountering this activity can expect moderate to heavy downpours reducing visibilities below 2 miles, wind gusts nearing 30 knots, and occasional lightning strikes within the stronger storms. $$ NB
