...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT SOUTHEASTERN CHERRY AND
NORTHWESTERN HOOKER COUNTIES THROUGH 345 AM CDT/245 AM MDT/...

At 302 AM CDT/202 AM MDT/, Doppler radar was tracking strong
thunderstorms along a line extending from 10 miles south of Merritt
Reservoir to 7 miles west of Mullen. Movement was northeast at 50
mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Mullen, Brownlee, Valentine National Wildlife Refuge, Merritt
Reservoir, Wood Lake, Highway 97 crossing the North Loup River,
Highway 83 crossing the North Loup River, Marsh Flat, Schlagel Creek
State Wildlife Management Area, Giant Hill, Highway 97 crossing Big
Creek, Big Alkali Lake State Wildlife Management Area, Hecla, and
Highway 83 crossing Goose Creek.

This includes the following highways...
 Highway 20 between mile markers 203 and 223.
 Highway 2 between mile markers 169 and 185.
 Highway 97 between mile markers 67 and 118.
 Highway 83 between mile markers 163 and 205.
 Highway 12 near mile marker 22.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 600 AM CDT/500 AM
MDT/ for north central and west central Nebraska.
