OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan
National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI
851 PM CDT Sat Sep 14 2024

FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan.

Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which
is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the
average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will
occasionally be encountered.

.SYNOPSIS...

Winds will remain predominantly south to southeasterly through the
duration of the period as high pressure around 30.3 inches
migrates from Quebec into the northeastern United States. Low
pressure around 29.3 inches will develop over the northern Great
Plains by the middle of the week, reinforcing the south-
southeasterly flow pattern across the lake. Brief bouts of east to
northeasterly winds are possible primarily during the afternoon
periods as the lake breezes advance out and away from the open
waters. Precip-free conditions are expected through the majority
of the week, with rain chances potentially returning by next
weekend.
