Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Northern IL and Northwest IN
National Weather Service Chicago/Romeoville IL
410 AM CDT Fri Jun 21 2024

.DISCUSSION...
Today will be another hot summer day with highs in the low to mid
90s and afternoon minimum relative humidity values between 35 and
45 percent. Winds will start nearly calm and gradually become
southwesterly throughout the day. A lake breeze is expected to
develop near the Lake Michigan shoreline, leading to an east to
northeasterly wind shift, locally cooler temperatures, and lower
mixing heights. While isolated to scattered thunderstorms may
develop this afternoon near the Wisconsin state line, most areas
will remain dry.

Tomorrow will be yet another hot summer day, though with stronger
southwesterly winds. A lake breeze is not expected tomorrow. A
cold front will sweep across the area tomorrow evening, bringing
with it a round of showers and thunderstorms. Behind the front,
relatively cooler conditions will prevail before heat and humidity
levels rise on Tuesday.
