094 FNUS56 KLOX 252233 FWFLOX Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Southwestern California National Weather Service Los Angeles/Oxnard CA 333 PM PDT Wed Sep 25 2024 ...WARM AND DRY CONDITIONS AWAY FROM THE COAST THROUGH THE WEEKEND... .DISCUSSION... Near normal temperatures with a fairly benign pattern will continue through the week, with highs between 80 and 90 common inland of the coast, and 90 to 100 over the interior. Humidity levels will fall between 8 and 20 percent over the interior valleys and mountains as well as the warmest coastal valleys each day, with mixing heights between 8,000 to 12,000 feet. Southeast winds gusts of 20 to 30 mph will affect some mountain areas, with locally elevated fire weather conditions. Northwest Sundowner wind gusts of 20 to 30 mph will form each evening through Thursday, but humidities should stay above 30 percent over southern Santa Barbara County. Otherwise, weaker than normal diurnal winds expected today, with more typical winds for follow through the week. The marine layer continues to moderate coastal and valley areas. Significant drying is becoming likely Sunday through at least Tuesday of next week. South gusts of 20 to 35 mph over the mountains on Sunday, and east gusts of 20 to 35 mph on Tuesday will lead to elevated to brief critical conditions.
