152 FZUS63 KMQT 130754 GLFLS Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior National Weather Service Marquette MI 354 AM EDT Thu Jun 13 2024 For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior. Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS...A 29.4 inch low pressure system over eastern James Bay drags a 29.6 inch trough over Lake Superior through this morning. 30.1 inch ridging moves into the High Plains this evening into Friday, becoming centered over Lake Superior Friday afternoon. This high pressure builds to 30.2 inches and moves over the central Great Lakes Saturday, and will continue shifting east toward New England on Sunday. Deepening low pressure near 29.2 inches emerges out of the High Plains, moving northeast towards Hudson Bay Sunday into Monday, extending a 29.6 inch trough over Lake Superior.
