Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...Ridging builds over Lake Superior today through
tonight as a strengthening high pressure arrives over Lake
Superior by Thursday at 30.4 inches and remains through Friday as
it slowly weakens. By Friday night, the high weakens to 30.2
inches and slides east. Low pressure of 29.7 inches lifts off of
the Colorado Rockies Friday night and deepens to 29.6 inches by
the time it arrives over Lake Superior Saturday. The troughing
over Lake Superior deepens to at least 29.5 inches by Saturday
night as the low strengthens while moving eastward into northern
Ontario. By Sunday, the troughing over the lake gives way to weak
ridging of 29.8 inches as a weak high pressure of 30.0 inches
moves through the Northern Plains. The ridging remains over Lake
Superior through Monday as the high moves through the Midwest.
