...A SPECIAL MARINE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1045 PM EDT...

For the following areas...
Chesapeake Bay north of Pooles Island MD...

At 1014 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing
waterspouts was located over Spesutie Island, moving east at 20
knots.

HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Boaters in small craft could be thrown overboard by
         suddenly higher winds and waves capsizing their vessel.
         Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally
         hazardous seas.

Locations impacted include...
Northeast River, Turkey Point, Spesutie Island, Aberdeen Proving
Ground, and Havre De Grace.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.

Thunderstorms can produce sudden waterspouts. Waterspouts can easily
overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Seek safe harbor
immediately.
