604 FNUS54 KMAF 131850 FWFMAF Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX 150 PM CDT Thu Jun 13 2024 .DISCUSSION... Winds stay relatively light through next week, limiting large fire growth potential, however, humidity falls just below critical levels each afternoon, primarily along/west of the Pecos River. While overnight recovery is fair to good across the region, fuels remain very dry out west. Isolated thunderstorms are possible across the Davis Mountains and adjacent areas to the west each afternoon through the middle part of next week. Thus, IA potential will exist given the possibility for lightning starts. Temperatures remain on the hot side through the middle part of next week as well - in the upper 90s for most, with triple digits along the river valleys. && For point-specific forecasts please see the Point Fire Weather Matrix product issued by the Midland/Odessa National Weather Service Office.
