Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
207 PM CDT Fri Jun 21 2024

.DISCUSSION...

Light winds and good overnight recovery should limit fire risk
today into next week. While warmer conditions will develop
Saturday into next week, light winds, min RH above critical and
recent rains will keep widespread fire weather conditions from
developing. Isolated storms over the Sacramento Foothills and
Davis Mountains each afternoon could pose a risk of fire starts
from lightning and gusty, erratic winds. Later this week, a
dryline could pass through westernmost regions, with min RH
Thursday and Friday next week dropping near critical. However,
light winds, sparse fuels and good overnight recovery is still
expected to limit fire risk.
