Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
151 PM CDT Sat Sep 21 2024

.DISCUSSION...

A rainy pattern along with recent wetting rains will keep ERCs
low with good overnight recovery and min RH above critical 15%, so
low fire weather conditions are forecast into next weekend. There
is still the possibility of fire starts from lightning and gusty,
erratic winds each afternoon and evening in storms, especially in
drier fuels west of the Pecos River that have not have received
as much rain as places farther east.
