.DISCUSSION...
(Today through Monday)
Issued at 343 AM CDT Tue May 28 2024

Clear skies and calm winds will continue to promote radiational
cooling as some sites across the Mid-South have reported reduced
visibilities.

Overnight water vapor analysis places an area of broad ridging
across the western half of the country and an area of broad
troughing over the eastern portions of the CONUS, with the Mid-
South in a northwesterly flow regime. Mid-level ridging is
expected to build in across the region, as the troughing over the
eastern US gradually breaks down and departs. Precipitation
chances across the Mid-South will increase on Wednesday as a
shortwave trough, embedded within the approaching ridge, moves
toward the Mid-South from Oklahoma. Greater precipitation chances
look to affect the region starting late this week potentially
lasting through early next week, as multiple mid-level
disturbances move through the region.

High temperatures are expected to be near 80 degrees through the
remainder of the week. A warming trend is expected to start early
next week as temperatures warm into the mid to upper 80s.

.AVIATION...
(06Z TAFS)
Issued at 1112 PM CDT Mon May 27 2024

VFR conditions through the period as high pressure continues to
build over the Mid-South. Fog may possibly develop over MKL,
though confidence was not high enough to include in TAF. Low-
level mixing and a slight tightening of the pressure gradient
tomorrow afternoon will result in northwest winds up to 10 kts
with a few possible gusts up to 20 kts across all terminals.
