...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 715 PM CDT THIS
EVENING FOR SOUTHERN SHELBY COUNTY...

At 521 PM CDT, trained weather spotters reported thunderstorms
producing heavy rain in Poplar Ave and International Drive with
three vehicles stuck in water. . Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have
fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Trained spotters reported.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
         drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Bartlett, Southaven, Germantown, Olive Branch, T O Fuller State
  Park, Memphis, Midtown Memphis, Southeast Memphis, Downtown
  Memphis, Frayser, Whitehaven, Southwest Memphis, Ellendale, White
  Station, Parkway Village, Raleigh, Capleville, Elmore Park, Spring
  Lake and Presidents Island.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
