High pressure will remain in control through Saturday, with high
temperatures peaking today at values 15 to 20 degrees above
normal. Instability this afternoon through Sunday afternoon is
expected to lead to a slight chance to chance of showers and
thunderstorms during the afternoons and evenings, especially from
the Shasta Valley east. Temperatures will trend cooler and
humidities trend higher Saturday into Sunday, but temperatures
will remain warmer than normal into next week with a stable air
mass and typical northerly breezes returning Monday.
