Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern North Carolina
National Weather Service Newport/Morehead City NC
317 PM EDT Fri Jun 14 2024

.DISCUSSION...
A dry airmass will be in place through the weekend, with minimum
RH in the 30s and 40s percent, especially away from the coast.
This will overlap with breezy winds at times, and is noteworthy
for any ongoing, or planned, fires. Northeasterly winds this
afternoon will become southerly tonight, then switch back to
northeasterly behind a cold front that will move through late
tonight or Saturday morning. A few thunderstorms may develop
Saturday afternoon, mainly across Onslow, Jones, Craven, and
Carteret Counties.
