...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT SOUTHEASTERN JONES...SOUTHEASTERN
CRAVEN...NORTHEASTERN ONSLOW...SOUTHWESTERN PAMLICO AND WEST CENTRAL
CARTERET COUNTIES THROUGH 400 PM EDT...

At 318 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Riverdale to Maysville. Movement was east
at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
New Bern, Havelock, Morehead City, Newport, James City, Stella,
Merrimon, Harlowe, Maysville, Silverdale, Belgrade, Janeiro, Great
Neck, Riverdale, Croatan, Kuhns, North Harlowe, Merritt, Catfish
Lake, and Neuse Forest.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
