...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 900 PM EDT
FOR NORTH CENTRAL JONES...CENTRAL LENOIR AND WEST CENTRAL CRAVEN
COUNTIES...

At 840 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Kinston, moving
east at 35 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Emergency management.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Trees were
         reported blown down in the Sandy Bottom community.

Locations impacted include...
Kinston, Grifton, Dawson, Graingers, Wyse Fork, Kinston Regional
Jetport, and Dover.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

To report severe weather contact your nearest law enforcement agency.
They will send your report to the National Weather Service office in
Newport.
