.Discussion...
High pressure builds across east central Florida promoting drying
and warming conditions through late week. Rain chances remain out
of the forecast for Thursday, and only a slight chance for showers
and storms will exist across Okeechobee and Osceola counties on
Friday afternoon. Drier air across the region will lead to fire
sensitive conditions across the interior through late week,
especially on Thursday with Min RH values falling into the 30s.
Onshore winds continue into Thursday, increasing to around 10 mph
in the afternoon, lighter southerly winds expected to start the
day on Friday, with inland moving sea breeze increasing winds
to around 10 mph out of the east into the afternoon. Generally
good to very good smoke dispersion is expected today, with
dispersion ranging from very good to excellent on Friday.
Afternoon temperatures will continue a warming trend through late
week into the weekend, with highs reaching well into the 90s by
Friday and through Memorial Day. Maximum heat index values climb
to around 100-105 this weekend.
Fog potential and other remarks...Widespread fog is not forecast.
Localized visibility reductions due to smoke from new or existing
fires will be possible even if fog is not forecast.
