  and West of a line from Grand Marais MI to the US/Canadian Border
  Beyond 5NM from shore...
  Lake Superior from Upper Entrance to Portage Canal to Manitou
  Island MI 5NM off shore to the US/Canadian Border...

At 1143 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm,
capable of producing winds to around 30 knots and small hail. This
thunderstorm was located 16 nm south of The Central Lake Superior
Buoy, moving east at 40 knots.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, lightning strikes, and heavy downpours. Boaters should seek
safe harbor immediately until this storm passes.
