.DISCUSSION...


The next 72 hours or so will feature very active weather across
the southern Appalachian region. Scattered showers and thunderstorms
will persist across the region this afternoon, followed by a
round of heavy rains developing over southern parts of forecast area
early tomorrow morning through early Thursday. Finally, the remains
of Helene will move across the region Thursday night into Friday,
bringing strong winds and another round of widespread heavy rain.
