Northerly winds will increase over the region through the weekend and into Monday. Winds will be strongest along the immediate coast, north to south oriented valleys, and higher terrain. Gusts of 30 to 45 mph will be possible, locally stronger in the highest peaks. Northerly flow will usher in much drier air lowering relative humidity both day and night. The lowest humidities will be across the interior and over the higher terrain. The combination of lower relative humidity and gusty winds will lead to elevated fire weather conditions through the weekend. Conditions gradually improve early next week as winds ease and the marine layer returns. ...Discussion from SFOFWFEKA... Breezy west to northwest component this afternoon and evening, and may continue over the ridges through tonight. Gusts around 20 to 30 mph for low elevations, river valleys and terrain gaps, strongest over higher elevations. Winds weaken Saturday, and then strengthen again Sunday afternoon. The strongest west to northwest winds will most likely occur on Sunday. Minimum RH`s from 15 to 30% are expected each afternoon, primarily in Lake, Trinity and interior Mendocino counties. Locally poor RH recoveries around 30% will likely continue for the next several days over exposed ridges, especially where winds persist through the night. Humidity improve slightly during the weekend into Monday with overnight humidity recoveries in the 40 to 60%. Potential for fast spreading grass or brush fires will increase this weekend and continue into Monday in fire weather zone 264 where fine fuels continue to cure. ##################################################################### ## ## ## Complete a discussion for each ECCDA segment below ## ## When done click transmit, product sent as KMTRFWLMTR ## ## ## ##################################################################### ECC010-151000- St Helena ECC Dispatch- DISCUSSION FOR Marin and Sonoma and Napa Counties 257 PM PDT Fri Jun 14 2024 Northerly winds will increase over the region through the weekend and into Monday.
