.DISCUSSION...The main theme over the next couple of days will be rain-free,
seasonably dry and increased wind conditions. Afternoon humidity
today will fall into the mid 20s, with lower afternoon RH on
Friday. Northeast winds will gradually become northwest through
tonight. Tonight, the inversion will set up between 1900-2000 PDT
with modest RH recovery just under 55% into Friday AM. Smoke will have the
potential to become trapped soon after sunset as mixing heights
fall down to a few hundred feet. Current indications are that the
inversion will lift around 1000 PDT on Friday morning, though
this may be delayed, pending the amount of smoke production
tonight. Unlike today, Friday`s winds will be northwesterly and
peak near 25 mph. This should result in good smoke
transport/dispersion to the southeast, but may increase the rates
of spread for any fire on the ground, given min RH near 20-25%.
