Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...Tropical Storm Alberto is near 21.9N 95.3W at 5 PM
EDT, and is moving west-southwest at 8 kt. Maximum sustained
winds are 35 kt with gusts to 45 kt, and the minimum central
pressure is 995 mb. Alberto will move to 22.0N 97.0W Thu
morning, move inland and weaken to a tropical depression near
22.1N 100.9W Thu afternoon, and dissipate Fri morning. Another
broad area of low pressure is forecast to develop over the
southwestern Gulf of Mexico this weekend. Environmental
conditions are expected to be conducive for gradual development
of this system through early next week while it moves slowly
west-northwestward or northwestward.

.SYNOPSIS...An area of showers and thunderstorms located a few
hundred miles east of the Bahamas is associated with a surface
trough that extends from 29N70W to a 1014 mb low near 26N71W to
22N71W. Environmental conditions are marginally conducive for
some gradual development of this system during the next few days
while it moves westward or west-northwestward. The system is
forecast to approach the coast of the southeastern United States
by Friday. Regardless of development, fresh to strong NE to E
winds and rough seas to 12 ft will prevail across the waters N of
26N through Thu. High pres N of the area and associated ridging
will dominate the region afterwards, supporting gentle to moderate
E to SE winds the remainder forecast period.
