Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A trough extending from central Florida to the
Yucatan Peninsula will dissipate today. A Central American Gyre
will continue to develop this weekend. Environmental conditions
appear conducive for a tropical cyclone to develop from this
broad area of low pressure, and a tropical depression could form
over the southwestern Gulf during the middle part of next week.
Active convection, along with increasing winds and building seas
are expected with this system in the early to mid part of next
week, mainly impacting the south- central and northwest Gulf.

.TODAY...SE to S winds 10 to 15 kt. Seas 3 to 4 ft. Scattered
showers and isolated tstms.
.TONIGHT...SE winds 15 to 20 kt. Seas 3 to 5 ft. Scattered
showers and isolated tstms.
.SUN...E to SE winds 15 to 20 kt. Seas 3 to 5 ft. Scattered
showers and isolated tstms.

.SYNOPSIS...Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms
persist east of a trough reaching from roughly 31N76W to central
Florida. Gusty winds, higher seas and frequent lightning will be
possible with this convective activity. The trough will shift to
the east of the region through early next week. Looking ahead,
expect fresh E winds west of 70W by late Tue as high pressure
builds north of the area.

.TODAY...S of 27N, S winds 5 to 10 kt,  shifting to NE to E in
the afternoon. N of 27N, NW winds 10 to 15 kt. Seas 2 ft or less
S of 27N, and 3 ft N of 27N. Scattered showers and isolated
tstms.
.TONIGHT...NE winds 10 to 15 kt S of 27N, and N 5 to 10 kt N of
27N. S of 27N, seas 2 ft or less. N of 27N, seas 3 ft, subsiding
to 2 ft or less.
