West central North Atlantic continental shelf and slope waters
beyond 20 nm to 250 nm offshore, including south of Georges Bank
from 1000 fm to 250 nm offshore.

Conditions given represent the highest within that period.

Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average
height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be
more than twice the significant wave height.

Locally higher winds and seas can be expected in and near tstms.

The National Weather Service is accepting public comments until
July 29 2024 on a proposal to replace feet with meters when
describing seas in a variety of National Marine Center text
and graphical products for the Offshore and High Seas Areas

.SYNOPSIS FOR MID ATLC WATERS...High pressure centered E of the
waters today continues to extend a ridge W across the N and
central waters. The ridge will persist across the central waters
tonight through Sat night while slowly weakening and drifting SE.
An area of low pressure, a possible tropical cyclone, S of the
waters about 150 miles E of the northernmost Bahamas, will move
west-northwest towards the Florida or Georgia coast into Fri.
Please refer to the latest tropical weather outlook from the
National Hurricane Center for more information. Otherwise, a cold
front will approach the N waters on Fri,then stall near 40N Fri
night and Sat before lifting slowly N away from the area as a
warm front Sat night into Sun. Another cold front will approach
the N waters from the NW Sun night into Mon, then stall along the
coast Mon before weakening Mon night.
