471 FZNT21 KWBC 092011 OFFNT1 Offshore Waters Forecast NWS Ocean Prediction Center Washington DC 411 PM EDT Sun Jun 9 2024 New England continental shelf and slope waters from 25 nm offshore to the Hague Line, except to 1000 fm south of New England. Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be more than twice the significant wave height. Locally higher winds and seas can be expected in and near tstms. The National Weather Service is accepting public comments until July 29 2024 on a proposal to replace feet with meters when describing seas in a variety of National Marine Center text and graphical products for the Offshore and High Seas Areas only. Another cold front will approach the coast later Mon, with the front drifting slowly offshore Mon night into Tue while weakening. Weak high pressure will form just N and W of the area Tue night into Wed as low pressure develops S of the waters. The low will pass E of the area Wed night as a weak ridge of high pressure builds over the area. The ridge axis will move E of the region Thu and Thu night.
