720 FXUS64 KOHX 142323 AFDOHX Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Nashville TN 623 PM CDT Fri Jun 14 2024 ...New AVIATION... .SHORT TERM... (Rest of today through Saturday) Issued at 1059 AM CDT Fri Jun 14 2024 Did you feel it? This morning`s frontal boundary ripped through here pretty quick and changed...nothing. Southern KY saw a quick shower, but as fast as they appeared on radar, they were gone. In its wake, mostly clear skies continue across the mid-state and there was so little affect from it, dew points are still in the 60s. That means warm and humid will be the story again today. If we see any affect, it could be a degree or two cooler tomorrow. That`s about it. && .LONG TERM... (Saturday Night through next Friday) Issued at 1059 AM CDT Fri Jun 14 2024 High pressure aloft is still expected to make its presence felt by Sunday. Afternoon highs should be the warmest of the week, with many spots reaching into the upper 90s. Dew points will remain in the mid to upper 60s, so expect Heat Index values to reach triple digits, especially west of the Cumberland Plateau. If you have outdoor plans on Sunday, have somewhere you can get into the shade and cool off. I`m still thinking the ridge aloft should stymie any thunderstorm chances on Sunday, which means Monday will be Middle TN`s best shot at getting some rain in this forecast package. Unfortunately, it`s still not a great shot. Will maintain a 20-30% chance, however, if you get a storm on Monday afternoon, expect brief heavy rainfall, lots of lightning and even the potential for some gusty winds. By Tuesday, expect the start of another extended stretch of dry days across the mid-state. Temperatures should remain very summerish, with afternoon highs in the low to mid 90s with nothing too extreme on the horizon. && .AVIATION... (00Z TAFS) Issued at 618 PM CDT Fri Jun 14 2024 BNA/CKV/MQY...VFR will continue through the taf period. Very light north winds tonight will become north northeast 5-8KT after 15Z. CSV/SRB...VFR with light winds will occur through 06Z. Patches of fog will impact vsbys later in the night, mainly in the 2 to 4 mile range. Daytime Saturday will bring nice VFR wx with NNE winds around 6KT. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
