...THUNDERSTORM GUST FRONT APPROACHING CENTRAL LONG ISLAND SOUND...

At 517 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a gust front, capable of
producing winds to around 30 knots. This gust front was located
along a line extending from 16 nm n of The Thimbles to 8 nm nw of
New Haven Harbor to 10 nm N of Norwalk Islands, moving SE at 20
kt.

The gust front will be near...
  Bridgeport and New Haven Harbor around 530 PM EDT.
  Penfield Reef and the mouth of the Housatonic River around 535 PM EDT.
  Norwalk Islands around 540 PM EDT.
  The Thimbles around 550 PM EDT.
  Stratford Shoal around 555 PM EDT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

This gust front will likely produce winds to around 30 kt, and
could pose a serious hazard for boaters. A special marine warning may
eventually be required when this gust front reach the nearshore
waters. Boaters should consider heading for shore before this gust
front arrives.
