828 FXUS63 KPAH 300322 AFDPAH Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Paducah KY 1022 PM CDT Wed May 29 2024 .KEY MESSAGES... - Dry conditions, cooler temperatures, and lower relative humidity continue into Friday. - A somewhat unsettled pattern returns this weekend into early next week with daily rain chances along with a more humid summer-like airmass. && .UPDATE... Issued at 1015 PM CDT Wed May 29 2024 Updated aviation discussion for 06z TAFs. && .DISCUSSION... Issued at 306 PM CDT Wed May 29 2024 High pressure settled across the region is bringing tranquil weather conditions today. Visible satellite imagery shows mostly clear to partly cloudy skies while afternoon observations have temperatures in the 70`s. High pressure builds further across the Ohio Valley keeping dry weather conditions in place through the rest of this week. Aloft, we see amplification Friday into Saturday associated with an upper level wave lifting across the central plains. Rain chances will increase Friday night with continued rain chances through the weekend. The highest rain chances appear to be on Saturday. Forecast confidence is lower for next week. Ensemble guidance suggests quasi-zonal flow setting up which will introduce the chance of a few upper level waves traversing the area. This type of regime will bring unsettled weather to the area with rain/storm chances through much of next week. As far as temperatures, slightly below normal temperatures are expected to continue into Thursday associated with northwest flow aloft. However, temperatures begin to rebound by the weekend and especially into early next week associated with increasing southerly flow. && .AVIATION /00Z TAFS THROUGH 00Z FRIDAY/... Issued at 1015 PM CDT Wed May 29 2024 Calm and VFR conditions prevail through early Thursday morning with mainly clear skies. The only caveat is KMVN where some patchy fog cannot be ruled out. Have included a TEMPO between 07-11z for MVFR vsby reductions. Across the other terminals, confidence still remains too low to include any mention. Dry conditions will remain in place across the region on Thursday as scattered cu clouds look to develop around midday with diurnal heating. NE-E winds around 5-6 kts are expected before gradually turning more calm Thursday evening. && .PAH WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES... IL...None. MO...None. IN...None.
