Issued at 338 AM CDT Tue Jun 18 2024 Ridging aloft will remain to our east today centered across the southeast and Mid Atlantic with several small disturbances expected to lift poleward on the western periphery of the ridge. This will produce isolated to scattered showers and storms today. The main threats with any thunderstorm activity will be frequent lightning and heavy rainfall although gusty winds will be possible with any stronger storms. Temperatures today will be similar to yesterday given the expected cloud cover and precipitation. Highs are expected to rise into the 80`s. Upper level heights increase from the east in response to the ridge expanding. The result will be drier weather Wednesday through at least the first half of the weekend. Additionally, temperatures will be on the rise once again. Highs in the 90`s are expected across the region with mid 90`s this weekend. Dewpoints will range from the upper 60`s to near 70 likely keeping heat indices near to below 100 for the most part. A front approaches from the west late this weekend into early next week offering increased rain chances and cooler temperatures. && .AVIATION /12Z TAFS THROUGH 12Z WEDNESDAY/...
