Rating: EF2 Estimated Peak Wind: 115 mph Path Length /statute/: 38.61 miles Path Width /maximum/: 400 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 05/26/2024 Start Time: 06:15 AM CDT Start Location: 4 SSE Gatewood / Ripley County / MO Start Lat/Lon: 36.5051 / -91.0456 End Date: 05/26/2024 End Time: 06:47 AM CDT End Location: 2 SW Poplar Bluff / Butler County / MO End Lat/Lon: 36.7437 / -90.44 Survey Summary: This relatively long track tornado may have begun earlier but the area is currently inaccessible. A garage was pulled off of a cabin near the start of the track near Fourche Creek Conservation area. The track then twisted to the south of Doniphan and continued northeastward towards Fairdealing. Wind appears to have caught the overhang of the roof of a home and mostly removed it pulling down some exterior walls in the process. The track then continued into the western edge of Poplar Bluff with minor roof and shingle damage to homes. Hundreds of trees were uprooted and snapped along the tornadoes entire path. Several homes sustained gutter and shingle damage along the path. && EF Scale: The Enhanced Fujita Scale classifies tornadoes into the following categories: EF0.....65 to 85 mph EF1.....86 to 110 mph EF2.....111 to 135 mph EF3.....136 to 165 mph EF4.....166 to 200 mph EF5.....>200 mph NOTE: The information in this statement is preliminary and subject to change pending final review of the event and publication in NWS Storm Data. $$ CW/AD/JGG
