SOUTHEASTERN MISSISSIPPI AND EAST CENTRAL NEW MADRID COUNTIES THROUGH
630 PM CDT...

At 600 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 6 miles north of Brookport to 8 miles west of
Mayfield to near Big Oak Tree State Park. Movement was east at 20
mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Paducah, Mayfield, Metropolis, Fulton, Hickman, Clinton, Towosahgy
State Historic Site, Big Oak Tree State Park, Reidland, Lone Oak,
Brookport, Golconda, Barkley Regional Airport, Cayce, Dorena,
Ledbetter, Lynnville, Fulgham, Sedalia, and New Columbia.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 24 in Kentucky between Mile Markers 1 and 17.
 Interstate 24 in Illinois between Mile Markers 24 and 38.
 Interstate 69 in Kentucky between Mile Markers 1 and 33.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
