Fire Weather Planning Forecast for NE Oregon and SE Washington
National Weather Service Pendleton OR
246 PM PDT Fri Jun 14 2024

.DISCUSSION...Deep upper low moving across the Canadian coastline
will move inland across the US/Canada over the weekend. This will
bring breezy winds, cool temperatures, and some chances of rain
through the weekend as well. Breeziest winds expected Saturday,
strongest for the Simcoe Highlands, Kittitas Valley, and Columbia
Basin/Foothills of the Blue Mountains. Speeds generally gusting to
40 mph or under, but isolated 45+ mph gusts possible,
particularly in the higher terrain of these regions. Temperatures
cool significantly, and look for chances of frost to possible near
freezing lows in the mountains and in Central Oregon.
Precipitation should mostly be shadowed by the Cascades on
Saturday, but wrap around moisture on Sunday into Monday may allow
for some light QPF amounts from Central Oregon up through the
Wallowas and Blues.
