Fire Weather Planning Forecast for NE Oregon and SE Washington
National Weather Service Pendleton OR
243 PM PDT Thu Jun 20 2024

...ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONCERNS SUNDAY...

.DISCUSSION...Warm, dry conditions are forecast through Saturday.
Daytime RH values will be very low, with poor to moderate
overnight recovery along ridgetop locations. Sunday, confidence is
very high (>95% chance) that a low pressure system and attendant
dry cold front will track over the Pacific Northwest, inducing
westerly winds through the Cascade gaps and across the Columbia
Plateau. In tandem with low afternoon RH values, the current
forecast places elevated fire weather concerns across OR641 and
WA691 Sunday afternoon and evening.
