Cooler temperatures were felt across the Islands last night
through this morning as cool air behind the front moved over the
territory. Sadly, normal temperatures may return tonight as the
cool air diminishes overnight. Thankfully, breezy winds will hold
in the area through Tuesday due to a strong ridge to the south.

By Wednesday, the aforementioned ridge is forecast to weaken as
it moves east. Models show trade winds and showers embedded
within the trade wind flow remaining through next Saturday as
another ridge builds near New Zealand. Expect the latter ridge to
hold current weather patterns for the rest of forecast period.

Latest observations observed at the PacIOOS buoy are around 8
feet, which have exceeded forecasted heights by a foot. For this
reason, we anticipate wave heights to be higher than forecasted
for the next few days. Latest model data holds a building trend
for wave heights through Sunday before leveling out around 9 feet
through Tuesday. Hence, a small craft advisory and high surf
advisory are in effect through this duration.
