Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southwest and South-Central
Arizona and Southeast California
National Weather Service Phoenix AZ
305 PM MST Fri Jun 7 2024

.DISCUSSION...
Hot and dry conditions will continue to support a high fire danger
across the area. Isolated dry thunderstorms developing in the vicinity
of the far eastern districts (over the White Mountains and
high terrain of Southeast Arizona) could lead to an increased
risk of lightning-caused fire starts through the remainder of
today, however, dry thunder chances over the eastern districts
remain below 10 percent. Another day of excessive heat is
forecast across most of the lower deserts with highs near 110
degrees before a gradual cooldown over the weekend. Winds will
generally favor diurnal tendencies with sustained speeds below 15
mph along with occasional afternoon breeziness of upwards of 20-25
mph. MinRHs ranging from the upper single digits to around 15%
along with poor to fair overnight recoveries between 20-40% will
be common.

...Thunderstorms imply gusty winds...
