Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southwest and South-Central
Arizona and Southeast California
National Weather Service Phoenix AZ
133 AM MST Fri Jun 7 2024

.DISCUSSION...
Hot and dry conditions will continue to support a high fire danger
across the area. Isolated dry thunderstorms developing near the
vicinity of the White Mountains, Mogollon Rim, and the far eastern
districts could lead to an increased risk of lightning-related
fire starts later today, however, the dry thunder chances over the
eastern districts are below 10 percent. Another day of excessive
heat is forecast across most of the lower deserts with highs near
110 degrees before a gradual cooldown over the weekend. Winds will
generally favor diurnal tendencies with sustained speeds below 15
mph along with occasional afternoon breeziness of upwards of
20-25 mph. MinRHs will hover at around 10% along with poor to
fair overnight recoveries as MaxRHs range between 20-40%.

...Thunderstorms imply gusty winds...
