Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
1237 PM MDT Sun Jun 2 2024

.Discussion...

Increasing winds will lead to critical fire weather conditions
in and near the mountains this afternoon, however with updated
fuels not deemed critical, no fire weather highlights are
anticipated. However if fuels are critical then rapid rates of
fire growth and spread will be possible for the mountains,
valleys and adjacent plains where fuel conditions warrant. Updated
zones indicate green up has mitigated impacts. Otherwise expect
a dry and warming trend through mid week with isolated
thunderstorms at times over the mountains. Thunderstorm chances
increase late week into next weekend bringing a minor cool down
to the region.

Very good to excellent afternoon dispersions can be expected
today which will be slightly lower for Monday due to less wind.

--- thunderstorms imply strong gusty and erratic winds ---
