...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHEASTERN OTERO AND
SOUTHWESTERN BENT COUNTIES THROUGH 545 PM MDT...

At 517 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Higbee, or 9 miles south of North La Junta, moving northeast at 25
mph.

Additional strong storms were noted in rural southwest Bent County.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
La Junta, North La Junta, Las Animas, Cheraw, and John Martin
Reservoir.

These storms could intensify and become severe, producing damaging
winds and large hail.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
