...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT SOUTHERN WAYNE...SAMPSON...
SOUTHEASTERN CUMBERLAND AND SOUTH CENTRAL JOHNSTON COUNTIES THROUGH
100 AM EDT...

At 1159 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 14 miles south of Smithfield to 12 miles
northwest of Clinton to near Tobermory. Movement was southeast at 40
mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Fayetteville, Clinton, Mount Olive, Harrells, Jerome, Hope Mills,
Eastover, Roseboro, Stedman, and Garland.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Strong winds may occur well ahead of any rain or lightning. Do not
wait for the sound of thunder before taking cover. SEEK SHELTER
IMMEDIATELY inside a sturdy structure and stay away from windows.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 200 AM EDT for
central North Carolina.
