At 759 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Pittsboro, moving northeast at 40 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph, pea size hail and excessive lightning. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Chapel Hill, Sanford, Pittsboro, Garner, Carrboro, Fuquay-Varina, and Goldston. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
