.DISCUSSION...
An extended heat wave builds throughout the week courtesy of high
pressure. Isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible into early
tonight, with mainly dry conditions thereafter. High temperatures
will once again rise into the low to mid 90s on Tuesday across much
of the lower elevations, with the potential for isolated afternoon
and evening thunderstorms. Afternoon `feels like` temperatures will
reach into the upper 90s to low 100s in some places, resulting in
the potential for moderate to major heat-related impacts. The heat
continues and builds by late in the work week, with high
temperatures climbing into the mid to upper 90s for the lowlands on
Thursday through the weekend. A cold front approaches by late Sunday
or Monday, with showers and thunderstorms, and cooler temperatures
for the start of the next work week.
