...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in North
Carolina...

  Dan River Near Wentworth affecting Rockingham County.

For the Dan River...including Wentworth, Minor flooding is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Dan River near Wentworth.

* WHEN...Until this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 19.5 feet, Dan Valley Road and River Road in Madison
  are closed by floodwaters.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 5:45 AM EDT Wednesday the stage was 19.6 feet and rising
    slowly.
  - Bankfull stage is 18.0 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 5:45 AM EDT Wednesday was 19.6 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
    this morning and continue falling to 2.0 feet Sunday evening.
  - Flood stage is 19.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    19.6 feet on 02/23/2003.
