...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 1130 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...Rockingham County.

* WHEN...Until 1130 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Water over roadways. Some low-water crossings may become
  impassable. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 905 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing in the advisory
    area. Between 4 and 6 inches of rain has fallen.
  - This includes the following streams and drainages...
    Buckhorn Branch, Cascade Creek, Benaja Creek, Buffalo Creek,
    Big Beaver Island Creek, Belews Creek and Carroll Creek.
    Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
