237 AGUS76 KRSA 231559 HMDRSA Hydrometeorological Discussion National Weather Service / California Nevada RFC / Sacramento CA 900 AM PDT Sun Jun 23 2024 ...ABOVE-AVERAGE TEMPERATURES CONTINUE... ...POSSIBLE SHOWER ACTIVITY HIGHER TERRAIN OF SW CA SUN-MON AND SRN SIERRA INTO NE NV TUE-WED... .METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS (SUN AM - SAT AM)... Strong ridging and above-normal temperatures continue today across the region. Subtropical moisture is moving into southern CA/NV and is expected to bring the potential for some shower activity this afternoon/evening, mainly over the higher terrain. The 1.68" PW value on the KNKX 12 UTC sounding was higher than most models were showing for the same time. Mon looks to be less shower coverage for southern CA, with some potential for southern Sierra showers. Tue- Wed as the moisture continues to edge to the north, potential for showers increases for the southern Sierra into NE NV. Mainly dry conditions should return for Thu. Followed a WPC/NBM blend for this morning and afternoon, and WPC beyond that time. A gradual cooling trend is expected through much of this week.
