...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 545 PM CDT
FOR WESTERN BARTON AND SOUTH CENTRAL VERNON COUNTIES...
At 533 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Liberal, or 14
miles northwest of Lamar, moving east at 35 mph.
HAZARD...Golf ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect wind
damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Prairie State Park, Liberal, Mindenmines, Bronaugh, Lamar Heights,
Oakton, Iantha, Oskaloosa, Verdella, and Hannon.
This includes Interstate 49 between mile markers 60 and 67, and
between mile markers 77 and 81.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for southeastern
Kansas...and southwestern and west central Missouri.
