.DISCUSSION...
Upper ridging to continue to hang over the fire districts over
the next couple of days. Expect little to no fog in the morning,
with partly cloudy skies in the afternoon. However, the center of
the ridge will slide to the west of the region during this period.
This may allow for an isolated shower or thunderstorm to move into
our SE Oklahoma and SW Arkansas districts. Also, can`t rule out a
stray shower or two during the afternoon and early evening hours
across the remaining districts. Afternoon mixing heights will
continue to climb above 5000 ft each day, with min RH values
generally ranging from 40 to 50 percent. Expect 20 foot winds to
range from light/variable to around 5 kts from the SSW during this
period.
Hot and humid conditions will continue as well. A Heat Advisory
is in effect through 7 PM Tuesday afternoon, as the humidity,
combined with temperatures ranging from the mid 90s to around 100
degrees, will result in heat index values between 105 to 109
degrees. /20/
