...STRONG, DRY COLD FRONTAL PASSAGE EXPECTED MONDAY EVENING...

.DISCUSSION...Gusty west to southwest winds will remain in place
through the weekend at ridgetop level, with canyons and lower elevation
areas experiencing drainage winds each night. Due to a slightly
stronger pressure gradient on Saturday, it will take a bit longer
for drainage winds to develop Saturday evening. Otherwise the
trend through the weekend will be breezy daytime conditions with
poor overnight humidity.

A strong, dry cold front for June standards will plow through the
area Monday evening. Ahead of the front on Monday, transport
winds will increase to around 30-35 mph in the afternoon, and min
humidity will be in the 10-15 percent range. Wind direction will
shift abruptly to the northwest and north Monday evening as the
front moves through, and winds will be similarly gusty
along/behind the front through the rest of the evening before
winds gradually decrease Monday night behind the front. Current
forecast suggests the cold front will pass through the area
between 1800-2100 Monday evening. This window could shift slightly
as we get closer. Slight RH recovery expected Tuesday morning
behind the front with RH climbing into the 45-55 percent range.
Min RH on Tuesday, however, looks similarly low to the past several
days, back into the teens.
