.DISCUSSION...An area of low pressure currently moving into the Pacific
Northwest will strengthen across Nevada on Monday and move near
the Utah/ Idaho border on Tuesday. Isolated showers are expected
through the rest of the evening with enhanced canyon winds. These
will subside late this evening. Additional rounds of showers and
thunderstorms are expected Monday, especially during the afternoon
and evening, with the best chance for thunderstorms after 1500. A
strong cold front will move through the area late Monday night,
bringing a significant cooldown. With the low passing overhead
Tuesday, cool, showery conditions will be in place. Excellent RH
recovery is expected each night this week beginning with Monday
night. Another low pressure system will move through the area
Wednesday through Friday, maintaining cool, showery conditions. While
the total amount of forecast precipitation has decreased for Monday,
the forecast has remained steady from Tuesday onward. Potential
ranges for precipitation amounts through Tuesday afternoon range
from a few hundredths to over 0.30", depending on exactly where
showers and thunderstorms track.
