Surf Zone Forecast
National Weather Service Tallahassee FL
1127 AM EDT Sat Jun 22 2024

.THE SURF ZONE FORECAST GENERAL OUTLOOK...

Lingering swells from Alberto in the Bay of Campeche combined with the
new swells from the current disturbance in the Bay of Campeche are
currently leading to, and will continue to lead to surf heights of
2-3 feet at all area beaches through the weekend. The dangerous swells
from these tropical systems are also leading to long periods of
greater than 6 seconds, which combined with the surf heights are
leading to dangerous rip currents at all area beaches. With dangerous
rip currents present, there is a high risk for rip currents at all
area beaches through Sunday night, and beach goers should remain
vigilant and observe all beach flags before heading to the water.

Based on communication with area beach officials, the following flags
are flying at area beaches:

Walton........................Red
Bay...........................Red
State Park Gulf Beaches.......Red
West Facing Gulf Beaches......Red
South Facing Gulf Beaches.....Red
Franklin......................Red
